Finding God Through Faith and Reason

Gen 1:1- 2:2

It seems that in mans attempt to explain the unexplainable, we have so many theories or ideas (so to say) as to what or whom brought about the existence of creation; i.e. matter and man. Diving in scientific research, we have wadded through many proving factors that that point to one conclusion………There is a definite start point in the creation of time and man. What is that definite start point? Where did time begin? Where did the complexity of creation originate from? These are some of the questions that boggle the minds of all, even those that believe in a creator. Its not enough to say I believe in this, or I believe in that solely based on faith. As much as faith plays a part in our quest for truth, one must know the very reasons why they placed there trust in those beliefs. What are the facts? What does science say? To figure these questions out we have to look deeply into the concepts of scientific research to figure out just what science itself proves. I don’t want to tell others what I believe based on faith (as important as it is). I want my stance to be based on reason, solid fact that proves my stance one way or the other.

There are three conclusions that the majority of modern scientist continue to try and prove; The Big Bang Theory, Evolution, Intelligent Design. In our uncertainty, I want us to look at the all three of these stances to reach our conclusion based on reason.

First, lets look at The Big Bang Theory. According to the standard theory, our universe sprang into existence as "singularity" around 13.7 billion years ago. What is a "singularity" and where does it come from? Well, to be honest, we don't know for sure. Our universe is thought to have begun as an infinitely small, infinitely hot, infinitely dense, something - a singularity. Where did it come from? We don't know. Why did it appear? We don't know. After its initial appearance, it apparently inflated (the "Big Bang"), expanded and cooled, going from very, very small and very, very hot, to the size and temperature of our current universe. It continues to expand and cool to this day and we are inside of it: incredible creatures living on a unique planet, circling a beautiful star clustered together with several hundred billion other stars in a galaxy soaring through the cosmos, all of which is inside of an expanding universe that began as an infinite singularity which appeared out of nowhere for reasons unknown. This is the Big Bang theory. Back in the late '60s and early '70s, when men first walked upon the moon, "three British astrophysicists, Steven Hawking, George Ellis, and Roger Penrose turned their attention to the Theory of Relativity and its implications regarding our notions of time. According to their calculations, time and space had a finite beginning that corresponded to the origin of matter and energy." The singularity didn't appear in space; rather, space began inside of the singularity. Prior to the singularity, nothing existed, not space, time, matter, or energy - nothing. So where and in what did the singularity appear if not in space? We don't know. We don't know where it came from, why it's here, or even where it is. All we really know is that we are inside of it and at one time it didn't exist and neither did we.

Based on the theory alone, Scientist have tried to come up with logical explanations, and have come up short. Lets think about this logically before we make our conclusions based on the evidence presented.
