Most Reverend Phillip Zimmerman, SJ Sometimes a time comes when the Spirit calls you to take charge of your own spirituality instead of allowing and expecting others to dictate to you when, how, where and what form your faith may be practiced. Has that time come for you?Sometimes a time comes when you need to explore your relationship with your God in a sacramental community whose members, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, share in the direction of that community. Has that time come for you? Sometimes a time comes when you are searching for a place to be accepted, cherished and treated with respect while you explore their own God given gifts, being free to move throughout the community’s life and ministry unfettered by gender requirements or punitive doctrine. Has that time come for you? Sometimes a time comes when you realize that the quest for power and authority by some may have destroyed something you once loved. Has that time come for you? Sometimes a time comes when you can no longer accept that some are judged harshly or alienated from the Table because others decide who is worthy or ready. Has that time come for you? Sometimes a time comes when you need to experience the simplicity, depth and breadth of prayer and liturgy unburdened by the tyranny of the “should.” Has that time come for you? Sometimes a time comes when you need to balance the disciplines of mind, body and spirit to better understand your God. Sometimes you need a place that has intellectual integrity as well as spiritual truth. Has that time come for you? Sometimes a time comes when you need to begin with a small, growing community that does not claim to have all the answers but rather remains open to what the Spirit is doing, can do and will do. Has that time come for you? If the time has come for you, then we invite you to explore St. Sebastian Reformed Catholic Church in Columbus.
