Mission Outreach to Mexico

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco Mexico

Jesus never told us to go out and build churches. He told us to love our neighbors, to serve the needs of the world, and to work toward social justice.

Grace Mission RCC outreach in Mexico is starting its third year of operation serving the needs of the most poorest of the poor, folks that actually live on or around landfills or dumps in various communities, as well as the prosperious. Fr. Mike started in Puerto Vallarta in 2005 and works in conjunction with several inter-denominational missionaries as well as civic groups like the Rotary Club to support and improve the daily lives of this community. The premise is to teach folks to care for themselves through educational opportunities, feeding programs, mentoring and other means to assist our friends to improve their lot for the future.  We also serve the expatriate American & Canadian community who have migrated full or part time to Mexico. Based in San Antonio, Texas Fr. Mike is currently home on sabbatical furlough, speaking, writing, teaching and sharing about our work in this phenomenal country.

Every day the Creator leads each of us to minister to groups and individuals of all walks, who, for one reason or another, have fallen in need, at home and abroad. We reach out not only to spiritual needs, but more specifically to physical and educational needs. Even hospice outreach. These may include things as simple as spending time working side by side with your RCC missionaries, where we need people, ideas and hearts with no specific skills, but good backs to lift, carry, and clean perhaps as a simple hug and a smile. More challenging projects may include anything from creating better living spaces, computer labs, family life skills, to the building of new viable home.

Are you a dentist with a week available? Or a carpenter with some time, a hammer and a willing heart? Perhaps a teacher, with a yearning and a free summer? Retired and seeking an active serving lifestyle? Or perhaps you are someone with some no particular skill set but has the time and can stand side by side with our existing missionaries serving in what ever capacity is needed at the time? Are you simply a person with a heart to serve? Perhaps a young person looking for that summer experience between college years. Come you seminarians seeking to explore your pastoral experience and passion. We need religious brothers and sisters to serve and support our combined RCC outreaches. Short term missions is a blast and adventure!! Come and serve!!"
