Retired Deputy Steve Bollinger

Grove City, Ohio

Requiescat in Pace

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Police Officials released the names of two deputies that were involved in a fatal crash on Sunday afternoon, August 5, 2007.

The crash happened at about 1:30 p.m. on Orders Road, south of Grove City, Ohio.

58-year-old retired Sergeant Steve Bollinger, husband of Candice Bollinger, was a passenger in the vehicle.

According to police, the deputies finished a special duty assignment at a church and drove home together in a pickup truck. The truck reportedly went off a curve on the road and slammed into a pole killing Bollinger.

The driver was taken to Mount Carmel West and was listed in satisfactory condition.

Sergeant Bollinger worked as a special duty deputy for Franklin County. He had over 30 years of service for the organization.

The people of The Reformed Catholic Church offer our prayers, condolences and love to Candice, Laura, Mel and the Bollinger family in this time of loss.

Eternal Rest Grant Unto Steve, O Lord... and Let Your Perpetual Light Shine Upon him.  May his soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.  +Amen
